Développer des cultures résilientes au profit des petits producteurs d’Afrique de l’Ouest - ABEE
Le projet ABEE (Renforcement des réseaux et des capacités institutionnelles en amélioration des plantes pour le développement de cultures résilientes au profit des petits producteurs d’Afrique de l’Ouest) met en œuvre une approche coordonnée en sélection variétale, en modernisant les pratiques de sélectionneurs de cinq cultures cibles (mil, sorgho, fonio, arachide et niébé), afin de mieux répondre à la demande du marché. Objectif : contribuer à la hausse de la productivité agricole et de la résilience des petits exploitants agricoles face à la croissance démographique, à la vulnérabilité économique et au changement climatique.

Supporting agroecology in the South and Southeast of Madagascar (AFAFI South program)
Facing recurrent droughts, the Androy and Anosy regions of the southern Madagascar are expiring chronic food insecurity. The Afafi Sud project aims through participatory, integrated and agro-ecological approaches to contribute to improve nutritional security and reduce poverty for rural populations in the south and southeast of Madagascar.

IFC-CORYNESPORA : Study of the Hevea/Corynespora pathosystem
The Corynespora Leaf Fall (CLF) disease caused by the fungus C. casssiicola causes severe leaf damages on rubber trees, in most of the major Asian and African growing areas. The objective of the IFC-CORYNESPORA program is to identify the main pathotypes of the fungus, and the rubber clones most sensitive to these pathotypes, in order to avoid the development of clones carrying a significant epidemic risk.

The AfricaYam project focuses on genetic improvement of two major cultivated yam species which are white yam (Dioscorea rotundata), which is native to West Africa, and water yam (D. alata) which originated from the Asia/Pacific region.
